Barstool Chicago Halloween Costume Draft

The Chicago crew is back and they are drafting Halloween costumes. Just gonna do this now, bonk, bonk, bonk, bonk. That's all. They are joined by Kayce Smith, who is on the show for the first time, which surprised me. 

Round 1 Pick 1: Adam and Eve, Dave

I think this is a bad pick. Like I've never seen a couple dress as Adam and Eve ever. I mean it would be hot, but it isn't super common. It certainly shouldn't have gone first overall. So overall, a bad start for our favorite foul boy.

Grade: C

Round 1 Pick 2: Hooters Girl, Eddie

Good pick by Eddie. My only complaint would be, you can see people in this "costume" any time you want by just going to Hooters. The Hooters costume is essentially a Brett Favre pick if you will. It's a wild card pick because if done well it's the best costume, but if it's done poorly, it is awful. But overall, they tend to be good costumes. Good pick, but not the best in my honest opinion, which I would imagine would be a little unpopular.

Round 1 Pick 3: Jasmine (Aladdin), Chief

I'm not gonna lie, I always think it's weird when people dress as Disney princesses. I just don't like sexualizing cartoons. It's a good costume, but not a first-rounder in my opinion.

Round 1 Pick 4: Playboy Bunny, Kayce

I disagree, I actually think Playboy Bunny and Hugh Hefner is far and away the best couples costume you can pick, and the bunny by itself is an elite girls costume. It will always play until the end of time. I say "play the hits" and keep bringing on the playboy bunnies! So the pick is good, but the category is bad.

Round 1 Pick 5: Wayne and Garth, Carl

I think it's a good Carl. I think it's funny and sometimes I like when costumes aren't oversexualized. It is a bit overplayed, but I don't think it was a bad pick. Good pick Carl, don't listen to the slander.

Round 2 Pick 1: Cowboy, Carl

I think this is a good pick. Everyone has gone as a cowboy at some point in their life. Not too much to say about it, just a good pick from Carl, it's the epitome of an easy costume where it also looks like you put in a little effort.

Grade: A

Round 2 Pick 2: Danny and Sandy from Grease, Kayce

Good pick, but I don't think this is popular nowadays. Grease has just become a little further removed from pop culture. I think you're more likely to see this from the one couple in your neighborhood where they are in their early thirties with young kids. The mom is still an absolute dime and the dad is a little fat, she begs him to wear it so she can look hot and the husband agrees because she isn't wearing lingerie. Anyways, not an awful pick.

Round 2 Pick 3: Dumb and Dumber, Chief

I fully agree. I think this is so overplayed and really not that funny. Most people don't fully go out with the costume with the teeth and bowl cuts, they would just do the tuxes. That's just lazy. Overall, I think the costumes aren't that funny and you'll see one at every party. Strong pick.

Round 2 Pick 4: Baseball Player, Eddie

I think the last time I dressed up to go trick-or-treating with my friends I went as a baseball player. It's so simple, so effortless, and it looks slightly better than just wearing a basketball/football jersey. You can wear a hat, maybe a little eye black, some baseball pants. You're golden. I think this is a great pick.

Round 2 Pick 5: Mike Ditka, Dave

Meh. I think this is too Chicago-specific. Outside of Chicago, nobody dresses up as Mike Ditka. It's an easy costume but won't receive national play. Not a great pick.

Round 3 Pick 1: Leprechaun, Dave

I don't really think this is that overplayed. I very rarely see people dressed as leprechauns. So again, another subpar pick from Dave.

Round 3 Pick 2: The Joker, Eddie

Phenomenal pick. The Joker definitely goes through cycles. It became very popular two years after the Dark Knight, two years after Suicide Squad, and now it's back after the most recent adaption. I mean it's so overplayed that they even made a joke about it on the Office when three people dressed up as the Joker. It's a very good pick, there are usually multiple people at a party dressed up as the Joker.

Grade: A

Round 3 Pick 3: Ref, Chief

A ref can be a good costume if done correctly. It is especially good if you have a blind stick or glasses to add to the costume. Very easy, but however if it's just plain, I see it as kind of lazy. So it can be good and is always good in a pinch.

Round 3 Pick 4: Victoria Secret Angel (with wings), Kayce

I mean this is just a girl in lingerie. I mean how can you get any hotter than that? Good pick from Kayce, I would never deny a VS Angel.

Round 3 Pick 5: School Girl, Carl

I don't think this was a bad pick. It's a solid pick. It isn't my favorite selection, I think it's a bit overdone, but it can be extremely hot. With everything left on the board, I think it was probably one of the better ones.

Grade: A-

Round 4 Pick 1: Harry Potter, Carl

Good costume. It's overplayed at all ages. A lot of kids are Harry Potter, a lot of adults are Harry Potter, even a lot of girls are hot Harry Potter. It's just too much. I just think Harry Potter in general is overplayed, the series is fine. But just too big in our culture to this day. Good pick.

Round 4 Pick 2: Slutty Animal, Kayce

Good pick. It's the female equivalent of a cowboy. It's enough of a costume to seem like you put in an effort, but it takes like ten minutes to figure out. Strong pick.

Round 4 Pick 3: Brawny Man, Chief

This is a pretty lame costume by Chief. Like if this is your best costume ever, you've never had a good costume. It's just the cowboy without the hat. It's hard to grade these though because it meant something to Chief I guess. Interesting to say the least. 

Grade: B

Round 4 Pick 4: Wendy Peffercorn and Squints, Eddie

I love this pick. It's a bit out of the box and not as popular as some of the other ones. But Wendy is an all-time smoke, so people will definitely like this pick. Eddie is looking like he is in the driver's seat so far this week.

Grade: A+

Round 4 Pick 5: French Maid, Dave

I think the french maid is a bit overrated. Like it isn't as hot as some of the other costumes. That's just my two cents. Decent pick, but not a great one.

Round 5 Pick 1: Allen from the Hangover, Dave

Awesome costume. It always plays because it isn't quite popular enough to be overdone. Everyone likes the movie and Allen is the most iconic character. Strong pick from Dave.

Grade: A

Round 5 Pick 2: Gus Polinski, Eddie

Awesome costume from Eddie. Gus is an incredibly well-recognized character and I think people generally like it. Also, it perfectly suits Eddie. Great costume.

Grade: A 

Round 5 Pick 3: Dirty Dancing, Chief

Not gonna lie, never really seen people wearing this. Could be my age because nobody nowadays would "instantly recognize" the couple from Dirty Dancing. Not a good pick.

Grade: B-

Round 5 Pick 4: Mother Theresa, Kayce

I mean this is hilarious. Not much commentary, just funny.

Grade: A-

Round 5 Pick 5: Jimmy Chitwood, Carl

Phenomenal group costume from Carl right here. Being a team with your boys is great. Just a good pick.

Grade: A+

I don't think this week will be particularly close. I would say Eddie's draft is far-and-away better than anyone else's draft.
