Barstool Chicago Viral Videos Draft Grades

The crew is back for their final draft in the old office. They are drafting viral videos, which is a great walk down memory lane. There is no guest, which I kind of liked.

Round 1 Pick 1: Leroy Jenkins, Dave

I like the video, but I'm not sure it was number one overall. It has died down in the past few years, but most people still know it. A good pick but not a great one. 

Grade: A-

Round 1 Pick 2: Boom goes the dynamite, Carl

This video was like watching a trainwreck. It was so funny. So funny. I enjoy this and honestly think it is better than Leroy Jenkins.

Grade: A

Round 1 Pick 3: Leprechaun of Alabama, Chief

It is a wonderful video, but I actually think the meme has become much bigger than the video itself. However, it's still funny. Good pick.

Grade: A

Round 1 Pick 4: We're going to Djais, Eddie

Alright, I think this is kind of a miss from Ed. The video is funny, but I don't actually think it is an awesome pick. It probably would've been better in like the third round.

Grade: C+

Round 2 Pick 1: I like turtles, Eddie

I think this video would have been a better first-round selection. I think the best part of the whole video is the fact that the kid has like Frankenstein face paint on. It makes it ten times funnier.

Grade: A

Round 2 Pick 2: It's fun to do bad things, Chief

Just the fact that a 7-year-old stole a car is enough to make this a good video. The one problem is that, this video didn't transcend generations like most of the other videos. So for that reason, I can't grade it too highly.

Grade: B

Round 2 Pick 3: Greg Jennings, Carl

This is one of my favorite videos of all time. It's short enough to keep you interested, it's hilarious, and it involves sports. The perfect balance. Tremendous pick.

Grade: A+

Round 2 Pick 4: Hide yo kids Hide yo wife, Dave

This is another pick where I think the meme has actually become more popular than the video itself. Not to say it's a bad video, but the meme just exploded from it. Still a good pick.

Grade: B+

Round 3 Pick 1: Leave Britney alone, Dave 

I like the video. I don't really have too much to say about it. It's a pretty good pick, especially in the third round.

Grade: A-

Round 3 Pick 2: Cody Parkey doink fan reaction, Carl

I mean this is just a solid video. I would consider it to be a bit of a pander from Carl, but I'll allow it since it is his own video. The video is funny, but you can just see the raw emotion in it. Solid pick.

Grade: A-

Round 3 Pick 3: "Apparently I've never been on the news" Kid, Chief

I love this video. This kid has a future in daytime talk tv, he absolutely commands the mic. Quality pick from Chief, who has really had a subpar draft to this point.

Grade: A

Round 3 Pick 4: Charlie bit my finger, Eddie

Very strong pick. Could've been a first rounder on name alone. I don't think it is the funniest video selected, but it is definitely the most famous. 

Grade: A

Round 4 Pick 1: Fuck it I'll do it live, Eddie

I think the thing that makes this videos so good is the fact that it is so unexpected. Like you'd never expect a news anchor to do that. It's a good video and is still in a good amount of people's general lingo.

Grade: B

Round 4 Pick 2: Ain't nobody got time for that, Chief

The thing that made this a good pick was the fact that it got brought into everyday lingo. Not all videos do that, so this just shows how popular the video truly became.

Grade: A

Round 4 Pick 3: Evolution of dance, Carl

Carl certainly has the most diverse board of the group. This video is really like the only scripted video selected. It's a good pick but I'm not sure it has transcended generations like the other ones.

Grade: B+

Round 4 Pick 4: Sneezing Panda, Dave

This is probably the most viral short video of all time. It's only a few seconds long, but everyone and their mother saw it. To me, this is one of those videos where you scratch your head and think "how did this go viral?". But it did and it's a great pick. 

Grade: A

Round 5 Pick 1: Virgin kiss (TLC Diaries), Dave

Bonk. Personally, I had never heard of this video. I watched it and it made me uncomfortable, to say the least. But I mean it went viral. It's an ok video. 

Grade: B

Round 5 Pick 2: "Who do you think you are?", Carl

This video has been coming back into the public eye over the past few months. Whenever an athlete has a big reaction everyone sort of compares it to this. I think it's a good pick because of its current popularity. 

Grade: A

Round 5 Pick 3: Wedding entrance flash mob, Chief

I think the fact that this got onto The Office is all of the proof we need to show how viral this video is. Good, wholesome video. 

Grade: A

Round 5 Pick 4: Shovel Girl, Eddie

The thing I most remember from this video is: all of the edits on vine with the girl throwing the shovel. It's a good video that I forgot about completely. The only problem is the entire video really isn't super funny. Solid pick.

Round 6 Pick 1: My new haircut, Eddie

The funniest thing about this video is how real it is. I mean there are thousands of dudes on the jersey shore just like that every summer. A solid pick that has been forgotten through time.

Grade: B

Round 6 Pick 2: Masshole thanksgiving, Chief

The video is good. The only problem is that it's scripted, which, to me, takes away some of the charm of a viral video. It's still good though.

Grade: B+

Round 6 Pick 3: Terry in a wheelchair, Carl

This video could have gone first overall. It's the best pick in the draft. I really don't have much to say, it's just an awesome video.

Grade: A+

Round 6 Pick 4: Miss Teen South Carolina, Dave

So funny. Just absolutely so funny. Especially with how serious the girl tries to act. Strong Mr. Irrelevant. 

Grade: A

I think this week is a no contest, Carl is gonna win in a landslide. Nobody has a board even close to his.
