Barstool Chicago Ice Cream Draft Grades

This might be my favorite draft to grade, ever. I love ice cream, pound for pound, it's the best dessert. The gan is joined by Big Cat, who is an avid ice cream lover. This was a fun draft. Also if anyone is in Savannah, Georgia, go to Leopold's Ice Cream it is literally the best ice cream I've ever eaten.

Round 1 Pick 1: Chipwich, Eddie

This is a great pick. This was always my go-to at the Ice Cream truck, however, I have to agree with Big Cat and Dave, it probably shouldn't have been first overall. The main chipwich problem to me is that if it's a really hot day you get some extreme melting. It's very messy but still good.

Grade: B-

Round 1 Pick 2: Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard, Chief

I think this is a tremendous pick. I also agree that this could've been first overall. I had one two days ago, it's great. The only other thing worthy of first overall, in my opinion, would be an Oreo Mcflurry. Great value from Chief.

Grade: A+

Round 1 Pick 3: Rocky Road, Carl

I'm not a huge fan of Rocky Road personally, but I know a lot of people love it. It probably shouldn't have. been the first flavor off the board.

Round 1 Pick 4: Reese's Peanut Butter Ice Cream, Dave

This is honestly a pretty bad pick from Dave. Like it's a good ice cream flavor, but it would've been better in the third or fourth round. Definitely a reach.

Round 1 Pick 5: Peanut Butter Cup McFlurry, Big Cat

So Big Cat just picked something that doesn't exist anymore. I don't remember it, but if it close to as good as the Oreo McFlurry, then it's a shame it feel to five.

Round 2 Pick 1: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Big Cat

It’s a solid pick overall. My personal number two ice cream flavor. It’s a good pick and it gives you a nice mix of soft and crunchy.

Round 2 Pick 2: Chocolate Cake Shake, Dave

I've never been to Portillos but this sounds incredible. I'm gonna give Dave a good grade for this just because it looks great and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Grade: A

Round 2 Pick 3: Choco Taco, Carl

Choco Taco has the best name of any ice cream product ever. It's a good selection. The only complaint is not enough ice cream on it. Overall I like it though.

Grade: A-

Round 2 Pick 4: Drumstrick, Chief

Incredible pick from Chief again. This is one that is great off the truck and in the store. Everyone loves the bottom of the drumstick and it always made you feel a bit fancy.

Round 2 Pick 5: Screwball, Eddie

I don't love this pick. The screwball is fine. It wouldn't be at the top of my list, especially because I feel like ice cream and gum don't really mix.

Round 3 Pick 1: Standard Ice Cream Sandwich, Eddie

This is Ed's best pick so far. It's just the gold standard of ice cream novelty items. The only complaint is they are messy.

Grade: A-

Round 3 Pick 2: Rocket Pops, Chief

I usually call these bomb pops, but it's whatever. These are the best popsicle in my opinion. I really like the board Chief has made, hopefully, he doesn't Chief it up.

Round 3 Pick 3: Neopolitan Ice Cream, Carl

Not so sure about this one. Neopolitan is ok, but I think the third round is a bit of a reach. It's ok, but it's not great. The problem is, no one's favorite ice cream flavor is Neopolitan, everyone is just ok with it.

Grade: B

Round 3 Pick 4: Half Baked, Dave

This is probably my third favorite flavor of Ben & Jerry's. It's a great pick and honestly, 1-3 from B&J would be an A pick.

Round 3 Pick 5: Twist Ice Cream Cone, Big Cat

This is a good pick. Big Cat specified with the waffle cone, I think that makes it better. I'm not a sprinkles guy, but I know people like that. It's a very standard pick, but it's good.

Round 4 Pick 1: Phish Food, Big Cat

This is my personal number 2 Ben and Jerry's flavor. It's very good, it's a perfect blend of ice cream and extra items. Tremendous pick.

Round 4 Pick 2: Peanut Buster Parfait, Dave

I've never heard of this. It looks fine, but I don't think this is a good pick from Dave because it probably won't get the votes.

Round 4 Pick 3: Ice Cream Cake, Carl

I like the pick. Whenever you went to a birthday party as a kid, this was 100% the best cake at the party. Everyone loves a good ice cream cake.

Round 4 Pick 4: Cookies and Cream, Chief

This is my personal number one overall ice cream flavor. I would've taken it second round tbh. This is an awesome pick from Chief and he is very much in a position to win.

Round 4 Pick 5: Mint Chocolate chip, Eddie

This is a good pick. But it is too little too late. Mint Chocolate chip is a good pick, but it's too late in the draft to be meaningful. It's honestly very refreshing on a hot day.

Round 5 Pick 1: Flintstones Push-Pop

I think this pick got too much hate. I like it, but don't love it. It's fine and the orange flavor is unique. Not an awesome pick, but it is fine.

Grade: C

Round 5 Pick 2: Coffee Ice Cream, Chief

Chief! You were doing so well! His draft is really strong, but this hurts. It really depends on what Big Cat drafts with his last pick. I personally don't love the pick.

Grade: C+

Round 5 Pick 3: Frosty, Carl

A solid pickup from Carl to finish out the board. It's not an amazing pick, but it's solid. Not too much to say about the frosty.

Grade: A

Round 5 Pick 4: Dippin Dots, Dave

I actually love Dippin Dots. It's different, but it's a good kind of different. I love them at a baseball game, but unfortunately, that's really the only place you can get them, which isn't too helpful.

Grade: B+

Round 5 Pick 5: Snickers Ice Cream Bar, Big Cat

A good pick. I don't know how popular they are everywhere, but I like them. It's not the top of my list, but it is good value in the fifth round.

Grade: A-

This is a tough draft to grade. Big Cat and Chief are very much neck and neck, and I'm not sure how the Coffee pick will play.

Predicted Winner: Big Cat, but it will be close!
