Barstool Chicago Sports Divas Draft Grades

The Chicago boys are back this week drafting the biggest divas in sports. They are joined by former NHL athlete Ryan Whitney, who may know a thing or two about being a diva(ask Ovechkin).

Round 1 Pick 1: Terrell Owens- Whit

Honestly, this is a spot on pick. Running to the star is an all-time diva move which we still see to this day. Just look at how much Juju gets trolled for doing Tik Toks on the logo. TO was the one that started it all. I think this plays well on the graphic.

Grade: A+

Round 1 Pick 2: Conor McGregor- Dave

Meh, I'd say he's less of a diva and more cocky than anything. I think it's hard to be a diva in the fighting world because most fighters do that to make a brand for themselves. Nobody called Deontay Wilder a diva when he wore that massive outfit for his rematch with fury. A miss from Dave.

Grade: C

Round 1 Pick 3: Alex Rodriguez- Carl

I don't think Arod was the number one diva in baseball, but he certainly was a diva. Chief did bring up a good point that his image has been cleaned up recently. But, when you take this picture  

you're definitely a diva.

Grade: A

Round 1 Pick 4: Allen Iverson- Eddie

So the NBA is an incredibly deep category and AI is definitely not number one. I've always thought of AI as a hard worker, which I don't particularly view as a diva trait. Not a complete miss, but it's not great.

Grade: B

Round 1 Pick 5: Tom Brady- Chief

Kinda surprised he made it all the way to the end of the round. I feel like as Brady has gotten older people have forgotten how much of a diva he really was. He gets every penalty call ever, he is basically a gm, he also has a punchable face which adds to the diva factor IMO. I think this is a good pick from Chief. He also kisses his son on the lips, total diva move.

Round 2 Pick 1: Kyrie Irving- Chief

A great pick from Chief right here. Just a few weeks ago he was walking around the arena with incense trying to get "cleanse it". He's just a weird guy that has a ton of controversy surrounding him. 

Grade: A+

Round 2 Pick 2: Odell Beckham Jr.- Eddie

One of the worst parts about Odell is that he brings his team down because he is such a diva. He demands to have the ball thrown to him, so Baker Mayfield actually does worse when he is on the field. He also has a lot of off-the-field issues that contribute to him being a diva.

Grade: A

Round 2 Pick 3: Sean Avery- Carl

Not too may hockey divas so it was important to get him early. Not too many hockey players are controversial and this is the only one that people really think of. He made a lot of comments to fans and other people in the league. Lots of controversy followed him. Good pick.

Round 2 Pick 4: Lebron James- Dave

Remember when Lebron walked off the court when the AC wasn't working? Yeah that's a big time diva move. He's the best and he knows it, which always kinda rubbed me the wrong way. 

Grade: A-

Round 2 Pick 5: Kevin Durant- Whit

I'm not sure Durant is a diva. I usually think of divas as people who are loud, but I've always thought Durant was quiet. He played with four of the biggest divas in the NBA (Harden, Westbrook, Draymond, Kyrie) so he's never been the biggest diva on his team. I don't think this was the best pick especially in regards to NBA players.

Round 3 Pick 1: Manny Ramirez- Whit

I mean baseball is thin and he's one of the bigger Divas in the game. Good value in the third round. A solid pick from Whit after a subpar selection in Durant.

Round 3 Pick 2: Johnny Manziel- Dave 

It's hard to like someone that cares so much about money and with Johnny Football money was number one. When he got hurt with the Browns he didn't show up to rehab, which is absolutely a diva move. He also spent more time at the club than on the field. However I think this was a bit of a reach.

Grade: B

Round 3 Pick 3: Antonio Brown- Carl

AB is probably the biggest modern day diva in the NFL. He blocked a trade because he didn't want to play in Buffalo, he tried to get the league to change what helmet he was wearing, and he also karate kicked the Cleveland punter. All time diva, probably could've went in the first round.

Grade: A

Round 3 Pick 4: Ryan Lochte- Eddie

The made up robbery story was weird. I'm not sure he's really a diva like the other guys. One incident doesn't make him a diva. He also only competes every four years, which doesn't help because he's not as relevant as the other guys.

Grade: C

Round 3 Pick 5: Barry Bonds- Chief

I mean doing steroids is a diva move. Nobody really likes him and I think the pick has good value. 

Grade: A

Round 4 Pick 1: Roberto Luongo- Chief

I really don't know a lot about hockey players and Chief just seemed to have a personal vendetta against him. I don't really know how to grade this so I think I will just remain neutral.

Grade: C

Round 4 Pick 2: Jose Cansceco- Eddie

I mean he's about to fight a twenty-one year old kid, nuff said. Not to mention he was in Alex Cooper's DMs trying to fuck someone less than half of his age. He also snitched on everyone that was juicing while simultaneously doing steroids. Incredible value in the fourth round.

Grade: A+ 

Round 4 Pick 3: Patrick Reed- Carl

Golfer's are sneaky divas and he's up their with the biggest ones. I mean blatantly cheating is something that Diva's do. Honestly he's just such an asshole that he has become a diva. Good miscellaneous pick.

Grade: A-

Round 4 Pick 4: Roger Clemens- Dave

When it comes to baseball players, if they did steroids then they are most likely a diva. I think this is a pretty good value pick from Dave because I really don't think their are a whole lot of baseball divas.

Grade: B

Round 4 Pick 5: Zlatan Ibrahimovic- Whit

Honestly a great pick from Whit. Zlatan refers to himself as God quite often. The only problem is that he is so well-liked it might not play well on the graphic. He is a massive diva though.

Grade: A

Round 5 Pick 1: Eric Lindros- Whit

Refusing to play for a team that drafted you is an all-time diva move. I think this is a good pick from Whit.

Grade: B

Round 5 Pick 2: Cam Neely- Dave

I don't know a lot about hockey but the fact the Ryan Whitney laughed at tells me all I need to know.

Grade: D

Round 5 Pick 3: Dwight Howard- Carl

Dwight never particularly seemed like a diva to me. If anything he just seemed weird. I thought there were better NBA picks available such as Rodman or harden. Not the best.

Grade: C+

Round 5 Pick 4: Danny Healey- Eddie

I honestly have no idea who this is, but Chief and Whit didn't seem to think it was a good pick. Therefore I have to think it's not that good.

Grade: D

Round 5 Pick 5: Cristiano Ronaldo- Chief

I think this a better soccer pick that Zlatan. It was an all-time diva move when he winked towards the England fans after getting their best player sent off in the quarter-final of the World Cup. Probably on of the best Mr. Irrelevants they've ever had.

Grade: A

This was a tough draft to navigate because nobody really seemed to have a strong hockey pick besides Carl.
